How We Work: Much
of the consulting that we perform calls for the adoption of new
or improvement of existing systems to achieve greater organizational
efficiencies. We therefore first consider ourselves to be
partners with executive management in exploring alternatives for
systems development and implementation. We lead business stakeholders
through an intensive planning process, developing and refining clear
objectives, examining success factors to determine what adverse
situations may impede achievement, and defining tasks to eliminate
or mitigate obstacles, impediments, and risks. We perform the research,
due diligence, analysis, and financial modeling necessary to create
a successful IT strategy or business plan. The resulting plan concentrates
IT and business activities on provable financial results, enlightened
marketing efforts, and superior operations effectiveness, and emphasizes
plan feasibility, profit impact, and funding options.
An additional feature of our strategy and business planning services
is our ability to conduct an ongoing audit and update of business
planning assumptions and comparison to actual results. In the same
way that accounting firms perform annual audits of financial statements,
we can perform an ongoing audit of operational excellence. The audit
results identify changes in critical business assumptions and profit
drivers, critical past and future business events, and needed corrective
or remedial actions. This process is an effective, needed balance
to financial audits, and an excellent complement to "balanced
scorecard" efforts.
