How We Work:
Understanding how things work in a company is intrinsic to delivering
the full value of information technology. Without process understanding,
policy, technology, and management all fail. Our consultants are
all experienced process architects, analysts, and managers. We bring
a “real-world” perspective to our efforts that is often lacking
in process management projects. Our first task is to create mission
scope and objectives for the process project. Often, this requires
selection of a specific focus for the project – perhaps on customer-facing
processes, high-cost processes, high-value processes, or processes
that are thought to be particularly “at-risk”. We then focus on
the specific data or documents produced by the processes to understand
the components of the project focus – in other words, how does a
process contribute to the issue being examined, either positively
or negatively. By breaking down processes into components of inputs,
outputs and discrete tasks, we are able to define ways in which
processes can be better designed and deployed, as well as determining
where the process fits in the architecture of the organization.
Finally, we deliver analyses of the “big picture”, an examination
of the financial and operational implications of process change
for the organization.
